Where the idea came from
The inspiration came from my grandmother. I’ve always loved listening to her stories and imagining what it was like to live each one. Over time, I realized many of those memories were fading, and I wanted a way to relive them, keep them and share them with the same warmth she put into every story.
Baú de Memórias grew out of that wish: to make memories last and build a digital legacy, keeping alive the essence of who we are and of those who came before us.
Stories that fade
As the years go by, family stories scatter. What’s left is often just fragments:
- Old photos with no context
- Notebooks that wear out
- Digital files scattered everywhere
- Stories never told
This quiet loss led me to create a space that combines emotion and organization: a place where memories can be recorded simply and accessibly.
An intuitive, beautiful and secure app
The app turns memories into a digital archive of life stories, built on four decisions:
50 questions
Designed to spark memories of meaningful stages of life: family, friendships, achievements and lessons learned.
Text or audio
Write at your own pace, or simply tell the story out loud, with all its feeling and spontaneity.
Privacy
Each person can only see their own content. The app was designed as a private, safe space.
In the cloud
Everything is saved automatically, so memories are never lost and can be accessed from anywhere.
How the app works
Smart filtering
Questions that have been answered drop off the list automatically.
Progress bar
Shows how far along you are, for example 20 of 50 questions completed.
Mobile-first
A smooth, responsive interface designed for small screens first.
Easy browsing
Each memory shows the question and answer together, making it easy to review and read.
Stack and journey
The app went through three platforms before reaching the published version. Each move solved the limits of the previous one and made the experience simpler for users.
What I had to solve
Hiding questions already answered
I built a system that automatically removes completed questions from the list, using dynamic relations and conditional columns.
Showing each question with its answer
I used Template Columns to combine data from different tables and display everything clearly.
A visual progress bar
I counted the answers and turned the total into a percentage with Rollup and Math columns, creating a simple, motivating indicator.

More than a technical project, Baú de Memórias is an invitation to preserve personal history: it helps people organize their memories and create a legacy for future generations.
